Greater Vancouver Clean Technology Expo and Competition: Showcase your innovation

Billed as the region’s ultimate celebration of clean technology excellence, the Greater Vancouver Clean Technology Expo and Championship is certain to attract the best in clean-technology innovation.

The expo takes place on Wednesday, September 28 at Surrey City Hall. A $10,000 cash prize, provided by Vancity Credit Union, is for grabs to the region’s top clean technology company.

SFU students, faculty and staff engaged in clean-technology research and businesses are invited to compete and showcase their innovations. Early-bird registration is $175 until August 31, and $225 thereafter.

SFU, a platinum sponsor of the event, will also be hosting an interactive display called “Cleantech on the Plaza.” Myriad innovations will be showcased, including SFU mechatronics professor Majid Bahrami’s Hybrid Atmospheric Water Generator (HAWgen), which generates clean drinking water from the atmosphere; and SFU alumnus Kody Baker and his company VeloMetro Mobility will be offering velocar test rides.

Last year, the inaugural Greater Vancouver Clean Technology Expo attracted more than 500 attendees, including investors and buyers from both the private and public sectors.
