In this five-year period, SFU was granted the most patents, therefore has ranked at the top of the list among comprehensive universities. This recognition, is a true testament to SFU’s engaged vision and commitment to engaging research by providing flexible options for mobilizing the university’s researchers and technologies to solve problems that matter.

In addition, SFU Innovates—the university’s innovation strategy that builds on SFU’s dynamic culture, while seeking to strengthen our commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship—is built upon four interconnected pillars, one being Industry and Community Research Partnerships, dedicated to bridging the gap to create innovations that benefit society.
